Between 1927 and 1930 their camel trains carted materials for the 1000 Km railway extension from Marree in Sth. Aust. to Alice Springs .
The Sth Aust Govt had a fleet of AEC 130 HP, 8 WD trucks and self tracking trailers specially built for freighting goods north to “The Alice”, and for their first job they were to cart materials to build the railway extension from Marree.
